CD player stolen from SUV
(Seguin) - Just a few hours was all it took for a burglar to take advantage of an unlocked SUV in the Segiun area. Seguin Police reports, made Aug. 27, say that sometime between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., someone took a CD player from the 1993 Jeep Cherokee while it was parked in the 1100 block of Belmarez Street. The stereo is valued at $100. Police reports say the burglar entered the vehicle through an unlocked rear hatch.
Cell phone taken during vehicle burglary
(Seguin) - Five minutes was all it took for a $400 cell phone to go missing. Seguin Police reports, made Aug. 27, say that the owner of the cell phone parked his company truck outside a business in the 2300 block of SH 46 North for five minutes. When he returned to the truck, the cell phone was gone.
Sports cars damaged
(Seguin) - What may have started out as an altercation ended in damage to two vehicles recently. Seguin Police reports, made Aug. 28, say that officers were called to the 200 block of East Shelby Street to break up a fight in progress. When officers arrived at the location, they found that someone had broken a rear window on a 2001 white Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The rear window was also shattered on a 2000 Ford Mustang in the area. Damage to both vehicles is estimated at $700.
Hit and run accident leads to public intoxication arrest
(Seguin) - A 31-year-old Seguin man spent some time behind bars late last month after a hit and run accident. Seguin Police reports, made Aug. 29, say a female victim reported that she was driving down the street in the East Seideman/North King Street area when another vehicle came up and hit her on the passenger’s side, bending down the 2004 Nissan Xterr’as running boards. The passenger side door on the vehicle was also dented and a rear window was broken during the accident. A Seguin PD officer was able to locate the hit and run driver in the 1200 block of East Kingsbury Street. He was arrested on the scene for public intoxication.
Air-conditioners, miscellaneous items stolen from area home
(Seguin) - A local woman received some unwanted help moving out of her home recently. Seguin Police reports, made Aug. 29, say that a resident of the 900 block of Zunker Street was in the process of moving out of her home when one day she returned to find that her two air-conditioners, a CD player, 350 DVDs and prescription medication were missing. Police reports indicate that it appears as though the burglar entered the home after removing the air-conditioners from the windows. The stolen items are valued over $5,500.
Jewelry theft
(Seguin) - Approximately $2,300 in rings were recently reported stolen from a home in the 600 block of Roosevelt Street. Seguin Police reports, made Aug. 28, say that the three rings were last seen approximately three weeks ago, but are now missing. There were no signs of forced entry into the home.
